3 Tips for Snowboard Trick Prep

October 30, 2017

Today I'm up snowboarding in the Nintendo Terrain park on Blackcomb and I've got three tips to help you prepare for doing snowboard tricks. The first trick that I'm doing today is a tail grab on a hip. To prepare yourself for this snowboard trick you can grab your tail on the snow or as you ride. This will give your brain an idea of how the snowboard trick will feel in the air. The second snowboard trick I'm working on is backside board slides. A great prep for this trick is to do front shifty's as you ride. For front shifty's you do the same twisting motion as the back board slide. Do a couple shifty as you ride up to the box so you know how the board slide should feel. The third snowboard trick I'm doing is cab 180's on the jump. Great prep for this snowboard trick is to practice your switch riding outside the park. You can also do lots of cab 180's outside the park to get warmed up. By preparing for tricks on the snow and outside the park, you'll set yourself up for success for doing the tricks in the park. If you have any prep that you do for snowboard tricks it would be great to hear about them in the comments! Thanks for watching!
