In this video I will be giving you my experience with the 2017 Burton Photon Snowboard Boots. These are all mountain/ freestlye boots that use the a double BOA system to tighten.

BOA boots have been around for over 10 years and I have been interested in the technology and how its progressed. Although the BOA's are the most striking feature of this boot it wasn't the reason I bought them. The inner boot has such fantastic heel cup, feeling totally locked in and ready to go riding.

On the mountain I found the boots were so fast to put on and take off that I would regularly loosen them off a little to breathe and it wasn't an inconvenience to the group, great if you get foot pain from time to time. Compared to my old boot the difference was night and day; the most surprising was the feedback I was getting from the board and the terrain. There is a thinner soul with gel inserted to compensate on impacts, personally I had a few hard landing and the boots stood up them fantastically. They are on the stiffer, which I found was great in the trees and the back country.

Unlike the more modestly priced Burton Moto's, the Photon have independent upper and lower zones which is key to get the adjustments you want out of the lacing system.

The Burton Photon's are a great overall boot. They have great feedback and fit, and the BOA system makes them a great choice for people with foot pain and wanting a change from traditional lacing systems.
